The principal will be notified to support your nomination and the educator will be asked to write an essay. We do not share the name of the nominator with any party. The Sam Kahan Distinguished Educator Award is awarded to a long-standing Judaic Studies educator who serves as an inspiration to both students and peers. Please read the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria for this award. 1) Employed as a Judaic Studies teacher 2) Works in the field at least 5 years; more is preferred 3) Ability to develop and implement creative & engaging instructional activities 4) Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students 5) Background and expertise in Jewish education 6) Formal teacher training/pedagogy 7) Willingness to share resources and work collaboratively with other teachers
